Microdermabrasion Machines - Diamonds Are Still a Girl's Best Friend and Good For Her Skin

Zap Those Zits With Microdermabrasion
Everyone is talking about zapping the zits and the pore wells. Everyone’s talking microdermabrasion, a skin resurfacing procedure. During this treatment the top layer of the skin is scraped off with tiny aluminum oxide crystals or diamond- tipped wand and the new skin grows back, with better tone and color.
This procedure is non invasive and non surgical. It can be done at spas, salons, dermatological clinics or even at home with machine like those created by Timepeel. The skin is sanded down with the fine crystals and the skin which grows back is glowing and clear. The treatment removes acne scars, improves skin color and reduces enlarged pores.
Even if you’ve washed your mug, before the treatment, it will be cleansed of all traces of oil and residue make-up. Protective material will be used to cover your eyes. Then a jet of fine natural crystals will be sprayed at high speed, on the face and then vacuumed back.
The beauty gurus say that both laser and chemical peels produce better results than a diamond microdermabrasion machine. The flip side for these treatments is that patients must take time off to recover, an obvious disadvantage. Microdermabrasion treatment is as beneficial as the others and there is no need to take time off.
Some pundits would argue that a combo treatment of laser or chemical peels with microdermabrasion delivers better results. Once the top layer is removed, it is easier for other medications to get through. Patients trying to improve their skin color would find that after microdermabrasion, bleaching agents are more effective.
Some of the combo treatments have to be repeated for better effect especially to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles. Experts advise that the in-office or home microdermabrasion procedure when combined with glycolic acid or retinoic acid helps to tighten the skin as it acts on the collagen agents in the skin.
Microdermabrasion is likely to see you go red in the face and also might give your face a rather taut look. In most cases these conditions last only a day. In some cases the skin tends to peel. Best to ask a doctor on the use of sunscreens and lotions
If you have been having a problem with zits and have been on the drug Accutane, you are best advised to wait anything from six months to a year before starting on this treatment. Again, if you were suffering with herpes simplex around the lips, ask a doctor about the medication.
Raging hormones are likely to inhibit or change the effect of microdermabrasion. So cosmetologists advise teens and pregnant/ nursing mothers to wait for the all clear from the doctor and for the hormones to settle. Those suffering from keratosis, undiagnosed lesions, active rosacea or acne should also avoid microdermabrasion.
As for the dangers, the patient runs the risk of the treatment being done in unsanitary conditions with instruments which are not properly sterilized and with poorly trained practitioners. You might just get your face full of fine crystals if the machine is used at a velocity higher than recommended.
